About Us

Our Simple Story

In 2018, the Holy Spirit impressed a thought upon our hearts: “Why not have a repeater tower to broadcast the Good News about Jesus Christ from KLRF, a Christian radio station in Milton-Freewater, Oregon?” But the door to the idea remained closed until three years later, in the fall of 2021, when another phone call was made to KLRF to ask how we might begin repeating their radio station’s content.

By April 2022, we commissioned a Frequency Engineering Study, which revealed fifteen available frequencies in the valley—nine of them excellent!

In May 2023, we conducted another Engineering Study, this time to determine the best location for an antenna. Six possible sites were evaluated across Joseph, Enterprise, Lostine, and along the North Highway. The study concluded that the Seventh-day Adventist Church property in Enterprise was ideal. From this location, the potential broadcast reach would cover 6,300 of the 7,200 people in Wallowa County.

Then, in June 2023, the FCC opened a filing window for Low-Power FM (LPFM) licenses. We had not originally planned to operate our own station—only to repeat another station’s signal—but after prayerful consideration, we stepped forward in faith. With the help of an engineer, we completed the application process and filed with the FCC in December 2023.

In February 2024, we received joyful news: we had been granted the 100.3 FM frequency for a new LPFM station. Praise the Lord!

Next came the search for a call sign. Many of our favorite options were already taken, but then we discovered KLAH, which perfectly matched our mission: “Broadcasting Christ’s Love And Hope.” However, we soon learned that the U.S. Coast Guard already held those call letters. Our engineer advised us to email them and request that they relinquish the designation. After much prayer, the Coast Guard graciously agreed—and within a week, we received an official certified letter granting us the rights to KLAH. Another praise-worthy answer to prayer!

By June 2025, our station was on the air. Since then, we have continued developing programs and creating local content relevant to our friends and neighbors throughout Wallowa County.

Over the past few years, we have witnessed countless miracles. Our six-member radio board has seen God provide the right people with the right talents at just the right time, along with generous financial gifts that arrived precisely when needed. What began as a simple dream has become a living reality.

To Broadcasting Christ’s Love and Hope to Wallowa County and beyond—this remains our prayer.

May you be blessed!
